Have you ever wondered what is taking up all the space on your PC harddrive? I stumbled across a really slick FREE utility for Windows PC’s that will go through and find all of your files and then give you a visual display as to what and where the biggest files are and it allows you to more easily find the file HOGS and delete them, or at the very least know where your opportunities are for cleaning up your hard drive. I’ve included a screen capture of what the file output looks like in the picture above. I’ve used it and I think it’s pretty cool.
If you want to download it directly from the web you can go to windirstat.info and follow several clicks to download it.
Just run the program and let it go find the files, when it’s done, it will present a pretty picture like above. Then you can click on the big blocks you see and it will tell you what and where they are, then you can go up to the top half of the screen and right click to delete or otherwise manage your files. Let me know if you have problems trying to use it.
